Designer Kelly Dent founded Aviary Jewelry in Los Angeles in 2007. Influenced by her surroundings growing up in California's beautiful Bay Area, she focused her line on the graceful shapes of birds, feathers and other interpretations of movement. The line developed over the years to include other natural shapes and motifs cast in precious metals, finished, and assembled all by hand. The Aviary line primarily sold in Los Angeles, but began branching out around the world when she attended Central St. Martins In London for jewelry courses and met her now husband Jason Rhodes. His creative background and enthusiasm for jewelry and design expanded the range and direction of the business, so the two teamed up and the business morphed into Rhodes Co.
In addition to various mentions in high profile fashion blogs over the years, the line has been seen infiltrating young Hollywood as well as the music scene, gracing the necks and arms of such high profile musicians as Johnny Marr, Alison Mosshart, Liela Moss of The Duke Spirit, members of Kasabian, and the Silversun Pickups.
